Bilyana” Ltd. is a private commercial company, the successor of a state pig complex established in 1971. It is engaged in raising breeding animals and fattened pigs within the Svishtov agricultural complex. After privatization, it retained its activity and received its commercial name. Initially, over 1,000 were raised – sows and 15,000 pigs for fattening. As a result of the development of production technologies, as well as the use of more productive animals, the production reaches 33,000 fattened pigs on annual average.
Since 2002, a slaughterhouse for livestock of its own production has been operating on the complex’s territory. It underwent a period of adaptation to European requirements, numerous inspections by various missions, and obtained a license to operate in the EU.
To ensure high-quality feed for raising the animals, new feed production facilities and a grain storage with a capacity of 15,000 tons have been built. The company leases agricultural land, with the primary goal of closing the production cycle now accomplished. The production of feed uses animal manure generated on site, thereby adhering to all environmental requirements.
The production cycle is complemented by a 400 kW biogas installation and 330 kW solar panels to ensure the necessary electric power
