Founded in 2014, the company ZHIVETS 44 EOOD main activity is the production and distribution of organic sourdough bread and bakery products.
The company’s production is typically artisanal. All products undergo a long lactic acid fermentation. The length of fermentation after the addition of sourdough is indicated on each product label.
No baker’s yeast, chemical leavening agents or industrial yeast are used in Zhivets. The only force that makes the dough rise is the sourdough, carefully grown on site by the bakery masters.
In their natural development path as a environmental friendly food producer, the bakery completely ceases the use of conventional industrial raw materials, having now all Zhivets 44 EOOD production bio-certified (since 2021). And so, to all the advantages of fermented food, Zhivets added another one – the use of only organically grown and processed raw materials. Their assortment includes whole grain breads / rye, spelt, spelled /, kozunak (Easter bread), stollen (Fruit cake), gingerbread, breadsticks, crackers, biscuits, and others. The bakery supplies with their products different Sofia commercial outlets.
