VIDINSKA GAMZA / ECOBOOM LTD.

Vidinska Gamza Winery is located near a small village Novo selo in the Vidin Region in the north-west of Bulgaria. The Danube borders the region and all vineyards of Vidinska Gamza Winery are spread over the banks of the river, at 80-metre altitude, facing the South. The Danube provides the region with short but very cold winters, long and warm autumns, hot and humid summers as well as plenty of alluvial soil. Back in 2004 and 2005 Mikov brothers started buying vineyards of Gamza, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rkatsiteli and Muscat in order to preserve them and the ancient tradition. Some of their vineyards are dating back to the beginning of the 18th century. Mikov brothers registered the vine Gamza as “Novoselska Gamza” and named their winery after both the main city of the Region – Vidin as well as the Gamza wine. That’s how Vidinska Gamza was born. The winery began operation in 2006.It produces wines with a protected geographical origin in limited series, which exhibit region’s unique characteristics. The selected grape varieties for the red and rose wines are Novoselska Gamza, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Carmenere and Mavruda and for the white wines – Muskat, Sauvignon Blanc and Rkatsiteli.
